Scene - Chloe/Lois - December 23rd - PG

So this is the first actual written scene, most (all?) of you have already written scenes but just in case you can use this one as a model. Just a reminder and yes, I'm annoying about that, always use past sentences and be as descriptive as possible.

Feel free to add OOC comments here if you want to.

The scene itself is a short Chlois. The previous night, Lois got home late (She was talking to Clark online and then he walked her home)and feels bad because of it. Chloe notices she's not okay and tries to push for answers.

Chloe shut the apartment door behind her and dropped her purse, grocery bags and keys over the counter. She stopped a minute to listen and when she heard the TV she walked in the direction of small living room to find Lois sitting on the couch, looking miserable, frowning a little as she observed her cousin she said, "Hey Lo, thought you'd still be asleep."

Lois looked up from the spot she had been staring at on the back of the couch, started by Chloe's appearance. "Uh, nope. I got up awhile ago."

Chloe nodded and sat down next to Lois, patting the other girl's feet to make room for her, "Everything ok? You looked like you were miles away."

"Just thinking." Lois tried to pull herself together, smiling broadly at her cousin. "You know, late work nights make for an exhausted and grumpy me."

"Oh I know that..."Chloe grinned, "What kept you anyway? You don't look excited so it couldn't have been a story."

Lois shook her head distractedly, mentally kicking herself for mentioning being out so late as a large dose of guilt poured through her body. "No story. It was just you know, paper. Schoolwork. That sort of thing."

Chloe frowned, there were some things Lois said that she just couldn't buy, "Until 4 AM? Must have been a very interesting project..." She said as she raised an eyebrow.

Her face went blank as Lois finally met Chloe's eye, "I think it'll turn out to be fascinating." She muttered dryly.

Chloe's eyebrows arched higher and she leaned forward a little to study Lois' face before saying, "That bad huh? Be right back." With that she disappeared from the living room, coming back a few seconds later with two spoons and chocolate ice cream, she handed her cousin one and resumed her position on the couch. "Okay, now you can tell me who and how... By the way, the ice cream might be slightly melted because I didn't put it in the fridge when I got home."

Lois looked at the dripping carton for a second before taking a small spoonful, "It's nothing, really." She smiled at Chloe again and took another bite, hoping her cousin would just drop the subject.

"Lois, I got home and you were nearly brooding on the couch. You stayed out until 4am last night and gave me the lame excuse of homework. I know something is up and I wanna know what it is so I can help you. You wouldn't stop asking if the situation were reverse and you know it so c'mon, tell me."

Lois shook her head, digging her spoon around in the cartoon, trying hard to push the guilt aside. "I just got caught up in the paper and didn't realize the time. And when you got home, I was thinking." Looking up, she grinned at Chloe. "Mark it down. Lois Lane thinks. Banner day."

Chloe kicked off her shoes and crossed her legs on the couch, twisting in her seat until she was fully facing Lois, "Okay if you want to try the subject change strategy, that’s your choice. I'm comfortable and so are you so we can sit here for hours until you tell me what’s bugging you." Chloe paused for a moment before sighing loudly, "C'mon Lo, just tell me," She placed a hand over the other girl's arm, "You know you'll end up telling me anyway and what could be so bad that you don't want me to know? I know you played with your poo when you were two, what could be worst?" She gave Lois a smile as she finished and looked at her expectantly.

Lois paused, looking at Chloe for a moment before shaking her head. "Chloe, it's nothing, really. I'm just tired." She blinked away memories of Clark walking her home the night before and rolled her eyes. "And I did not play with shit when I was two."

"Lois, I know there is something disturbing you and now you're just worrying me. You never not talk about something, what could be so bad?" Chloe said frowning, already imagining very bad scenarios of what could have happened.

Rubbing her forehead, Lois sighed "Chloe, it's nothing."

"You don't look like shit for nothing. And now you have a headache, do you want me to get you some Advil?"

"Gee, I look like shit? Thanks, Chlo. Have I told you lately that I love you?" Lois stood and took the carton from Chloe, wandering into the kitchen to throw the empty container away.

Chloe rushed after Lois and blocked the way out of the kitchen by standing in front of it, she didn't wait for Lois to turn back to her from the trash can before she started speaking, "I'm being honest and you just ate the whole ice cream, its something bad. Did you get in trouble with someone?"

Lois debated for half a second before offering a compromise to try to quell Chloe's curiosity, "I accidentally said something to Smalltown about his dad and I felt kind of bad about it. You know, because of mom."

"Oh..." Chloe nodded and looked away for a moment until a thought came to her, "But when did you see Clark? He told me he was extremely busy with a paper last night."

"Talked with him on IM." Lois pushed by Chloe and hesitated before starting back towards her bedroom. "And you know, feelings of guilt usually don't happen to me so it threw me. I'll be better when you're bitching about another story you're proof reading for him and he can't spell 'fatality'."

Without stopping to think, Chloe followed Lois to her bedroom, "You know, if you feel that bad about it, I can ask him to come over. I need to talk to him about his assignment anyway and hand him some files Steve asked me to."

Lois waved a hand dismissively, seeing Clark in her apartment with Chloe around was the last thing she wanted. "Nah, I already groveled. It's all good."

"Are you sure that was it, Lo?" Chloe asked, mostly worriedly, partially curious.

Lois opened her closet, shielding her face from Chloe. "Yeah. That's it." She made a face at the lie, deciding she would talk to Clark later about stopping what this thing was between them, before she hurt Chloe.

Chloe walked over to Lois and tugged on her arm until they were facing each other and pulled the other girl into a hug, "If you wanna tell me what really happened, I'll be in my room." She offered Lois a small smile before leaving the room and shutting the door behind her.
